Make room for the baby

As a parent,  you're always waiting for the next thing. When they push up, when they roll over, when they sit up, THEN......they crawl.

As you celebrate you also have to start baby proofing. Now I am all about baby proofing, everyone does it right? (For my favorite baby proofing item, check this page out!)

Although when I walked into this little in my nail polish drawer, I also thought, what if she HAD her own drawer?

Can't believe I never took a photo of it, but I took all this stuff out and baby proofed the other drawers, and put a bunch of her bath and sensory toys here. Rotated some toys every week or so. So every time mommy was showering, getting ready, she thought "WOW, I have my own drawer, I don't need to break into the other ones".

Same with my room, I created her own corner where she could discover and find her toys and just play in her own space.

The reality to having a child and parenting to not be frustrating is to realize they want to copy everything. It doesn't have to be much, it doesn't have to be a big space, but just something near your space that is their own.

It's prevented a lot of tantrums, a lot of saying "no", and a lot of parallel play while I can do my own thing and know she is safe in her space.
