There are so many products out there and it's so frustrating to buy and try. Some just don't work. Some work so well it's parent proof! And if it's suppose to keep your baby safe, but it takes too long to release, it may end up being more dangerous than safe.
Thankfully I followed my little's desire to explore and created spaces for her so I didn't actually have to baby proof a lot (check out this blog for Creating Baby Spaces). I didn't do my stove or toilet.
Here are my MUST HAVEs!!
These are great for everything, drawers, toilets, stoves and furniture (but I do prefer more secure for the furniture).
2. Furniture secure locksThese are essential. Once toddlers hitch and pull, I've seen small dressers fall on top of them. Secure all small furniture.
3. Play penThe reason I never had to baby proof stoves and my kitchen was a lot of baby gates and this playpen. Throw some pillows and blankets and toys, they will be occupied, even nap! It is so much space and folds up so easily to store and save space.
4. Baby gatesThese were my tried and true, nothing fancy. Secure and baby proof but not parent proof and lasted longer than my walls! I love the full door or mesh, less rungs for little arms and legs to get stuck
5. Bath EssentialThis was actually from a co-worker. Her little fell and split their forehead open. Swear by this. My little is going to be 5 and still have this on. You never know.
